We invest in human potential. We build sustainable communities.
Under the Acacia works in tandem with remote communities in Kenya who do not have any of their basic human needs addressed or a government or NGO presence. We make the initial investment to implement education, health care, water, sanitation, food programs and create employment opportunities so all basic human needs are met. All programs are income generating activities which are run by the community and overseen by elected local board members, managed by the Country Director and Under the Acacia. All income generated from the programs are pooled into a community fund from which all overhead including salaries and supplies are paid from. We are not a model of charity we believe in sustainability. Once we complete our work in our two active communities of Loita and Esoit, our metrics will be used as a model of development in other remote communities across East Africa. Everyone has a right to basic human needs. No excuses.
